I'm trying to think of any example from history where a socialist state has seceded without it being a precursor to reunification/war (e.g. Vietnam)
Plus, like a left-wing Brexit, a socialist independent Scotland isn't what's actually on the table. Hell, it'll still have QE2 as a monarch. And if it rejoins the EU, free-market social democracy is as far left as it will ever possibly go. |
