Maybe so but you still have rights and the new owners might not be able to just increase the rent without proper notice etc. Plus, how do you know the new owners aren’t just planning to move in themselves? I’m not an expert but I’m sure you can’t be evicted without the landlord following the correct procedure.

OP, you should probably give Shelter a call. They’ll be able to advise you on your rights as a tenant which should at least buy you some time.
