I'm also fairly new to Glasgow and scotland and went to my first ceilidh about a month ago at Avant Guarde. Sloans also does one every Friday but Avant Guarde goes through the steps before each dance and it's soooooo much fun! I also wouldn't worry about going alone either. Someone is always looking for a partner.
