Banking - uni can help but there are banks everywhere in the city, banking is all done online on an app (so something like monzo might be good for you).

Phone - if your phone is unlocked you can buy a SIM card when you’re here; something like £10 a month and you’ll get free data and calls with that.

Travel - trains tend to be more expensive than flying unfortunately. You can use Google flights to look at departures from Glasgow. You’re close enough to Edinburgh that you could fly to/from there as well.

- can’t offer suggestions on a priority list. Depends what you’re into. A travel guide book would be a good start to see what stuff you could do, and something like a lonely planet probably does a UK version you can look at yo get ideas
