56k is quite a lot in Glasgow. You won't be considered wealthy but it's certainly well above average and you could live very comfortably.
Can't say what living standard would be like compared to the salary in India. I wouldn't call a 56k lifestyle "lavish" but definitely in the very comfortable range where you will not worry about money and will have a significant amount of disposable income.
