Comment | Fyi, seems like it’s pretty difficult to find a place right now. There are limited places and seems like landlords are being picky. I could be wrong but that’s the impression I get from posts on Reddit and Facebook.

Personally I would look for somewhere around Cessnock, Eglington Toll or Tradeston. These are all walking distance from Clyde Place and would be cheaper than a lot of other areas. It’s also close to shawlands and strathbungo which have a lot of bars, restaurants etc, but are popular areas that might be hard to find a place in right now.
Clyde place is close to the subway so that also opens you up to anywhere along the subway route. Partick is close to bars / restaurants / nice outdoor spots, but can be expensive depending on where you look. I would avoid anywhere in town centre (around Buchanan street subway station) because it will be more enjoyable for you to live outside of the centre. Places around Hillhead & Kelvinbridge subway stops will likely be too expensive for you.
Lots of people told me to avoid Govan when I first moved here. I can’t comment on that because I have no experience of it myself, but would personally avoid Govan and Ibrox just because of proximity to the football stadium.
Best of luck! |
