| Comment | Yes, but I've got used to it. When I moved from a quieter place it was dreadful at first. Then again, I have tinnitus and the quiet place wasn't great either as it made the ringing in my ears seem louder. Not sure if there's any laws targeting excessive road noise specifically, but if there are I can't see them being successfully enforced. I get a lot of noisy pedestrians too, but it's worth putting up with them for the hilarity. Had a friend from somewhere else staying over recently and she came downstairs quite worried that two guys shouting outside were about to kill each other, but they were just loudly enjoying themselves and she didn't understand the acent. Wasn't until we heard one shout, "mate, ah love you! Ah'd SHAG you!" that that became clear. |
