| Comment | Penalise car use, slap on congestion charges, increase parking costs and use the funds to subsidise public transport. That will stop people driving into town instead of public transport. My sub 20mpg car still works out cheaper than getting a bus and is more reliable.
Obviously Hiroshima got to start from scratch as did most cities in Japan but it's not as if huge chunks of Glasgow didn't get demolished in the era of the car. |
