You could potentially get an spt zone card (you can get them weekly) which is a bit old fashioned (you need a physical photo and have to go in person to certain ticket offices to buy) but gets you on all the major transport suppliers.

Glasgow public transport is ridiculously over complicated, too many suppliers and tickets, and overpriced.
Stick to the subway if possible, Scotrail is also generally better/cheaper than the bus but depends where you want to go AND is currently operating a reduced timetable

NB add to the mix that the RMT union are about to call strike action which will affect all rail in the UK
