Disk brake pads on a bike are fairly simple to do yourself.
If you want a good bike shop in the north/ west I would recommend West End bike on Chancellor st, bike hive in hyndland, and the bike place (can't remember the name) at drumchapple sports centre
Doing it yourself is usually simple if you Google the name of your brakes. However if you are not sure then these places are all decent.
