I learned how to swim when I turned 30. I started doing lessons at the Dollan Aqua Centre in East kilbride. They have adult only classes and a block of 8 weeks was 50ish pounds iirc. Even if you don't live there I'd say its worth the journey through each week.

The girls teaching me were fantastic and the class was small enough to feel supported. I went from not being able to let go of the side wall of the pool to full swimming in about 6 lessons. The only reason I stopped was because of covid.
