| Comment | I go to Dumfries once or twice a month. Partner is from there and I’m getting married there. The town centre is pretty much dead but it’s a lovely place as people have mentioned.
1) local community are lovely and the pubs are very welcoming. Stunning local surroundings. People generally don’t move to Dumfries. A lot that live there are born and don’t leave.
2) as mentioned above the town centre is pretty dead, not many new businesses but there are lots of little cafes and bars but I think a lot of the locals probably take up those jobs. There is one McDonald’s you could look into I guess. You could try Moffat maybe for a job too.
3) I wouldn’t travel down from Glasgow on a daily basis unless you drive. Even then I wouldn’t do that with petrol prices. |
