Am 34 mate. I'm an old guy. Hip hop casts a wide net with a ton of genres I just can't get past stuff from the 90's and early 00's. My playlist does have \*some\* modern(ish) stuff on it, but for the most part it's all older shit.

My main spotify playlist is Nas, Pharcyde, Rakim, Camp Lo, Pete Rock, Jurassic 5, Mos Def, A Tribe Called Quest, MF DOOM, Deltron3030/DTFH, People Under the Stairs and I suppose modernish in Action Bronson.

Maybe it's just that I don't get exposed to a lot of modern hip hop outside of shit I see in videos on social media, etc but most of it is just a really basic beat with repetitive lyrics with next to no meaning. Especially British shit nowadays. Just can't bide it.
