Do remember that when being served by a glaswegian in hospitality or a shop etc, many still defer back to what was long considered ‘polite speech’. The language that people use with you is not representative of the language that they use away from the workplace.
If you’re in a bubble of non-Scots speakers question it with them directly. Look at it objectively. |
