East Kilbride is too far out of the city to reasonably get home after a night out without some degree of risk. The cheapest and most viable option is the N6 late bus which starts again this weekend. Since the under 22 passes are being accepted they could be busy.
It’s not 100% reliable so there is a risk. They do seem to be running every hour so not the end of the world if you miss one or it is full.
A wait for the first train is a mission although you can kill the time getting food or more drinks in a casino 😀
The night buses don’t follow the normal end to end route. Going in each direction they start from the city so there are two services. One from the city to Mountblow and one from the city to Calderwood.
I would suggest going to the first stop on the route to guarantee a seat of your choice. For EK this is outside the Garage Night Club on Sauchiehall Street.
