| Comment | For me, it's not just the airport, but lots of other things too. I often travel to Bilbao for football. It's very similar to Glasgow in a lot of ways. More or less the same size, similar industrial history and decline. The infrastructure is lightyears ahead of ours though. Cheap reliable public transport, good airport (although basic), great links from the airport (they don't fleece you for a huge bus fair - normal rate more or less applies). A comprehensive subway system too. The way they have regenerated after the 80s should be a model for Glasgow.
It's such a pleasure to get on a bus and pay about a quid to go wherever you want. The subway actually covers the city and even reaches to places on the outskirts. Great links to other cities too. |
