Until they get a reliable and consistent public transport people will still continue to use cars. I live near shawlands. It's about a 15 Mon walk to train station, then a 5 min wait if lucky for a train then a 10 min journey then a 10 min walk to my office. If I drive it takes about 15-20 min total and is usually cheaper petrol wise.

They're expecting magical changes to public behaviour by adding cycle lanes that are barely even used by cyclists and cause bottlenecks. The bottom of Victoria road is fucked now because of the new lanes.
