Comment | It works for buses in Edinburgh. Lothian buses are 90% owned by Edinburgh Council with the rest split between Mid/East/West Lothian councils, and it's a billion times better than anything we have over here.
Buses run frequently, go everywhere, turn up on time (including through the night), are clean and well maintained, and have a flat fixed fare regardless of what journey you're taking. Also if you pay contactless for multiple journeys in a day it's capped at the price of a day ticket. ALSO, if you live there and get the monthly pass, it costs £45/month and covers all travel on all routes, including the night buses and airport buses. AND, for the purposes of fares & ticketing the trams come under the same system, so all of the above applies to them too |
