Whiteinch is probably the best bet. Curle Street is ok but there is a high rise there that is full of smackheads.
You are much closer to the west end and lots of good bars and amenities there.
It's a bit of a walk to the nearest train station at Partick but there are plenty of buses. The transport links to the east end though are probably a bit better.
