It is absolutely true, a quick search online finds several sources to back this up. Here are a couple:

Defund Climate Chaos (https://defundclimatechaos.uk) also has a good summary of the issue, of how banks are continuing to fuel the catastrophic climate crisis coming our way, as well as what can be done to try and stop this.

I understand people like to make themselves feel better by tarring all activists with the same brush, presuming they must be crazy or extremist. Unfortunately, the climate crisis is very real and we are headed somewhere very scary unless politicians, corporations and the powerful more generally take action. Signing petitions, going on marches and writing to your MP will not solve the problem. That’s why people feel compelled to take direct action.
