Yeah I know what you mean . Aswell as glasgow has never been a city of particularly tall buildings thankfully. But I think the price could be brought down with government investment into stone masonry . With the trade falling away so much the cost would be astronomical. But if more buildings that are being built required them the cheaper it would get over time as the trade would grow.
