"Taste" is of course a very subjective matter.

Some old buildings are class. Some of them are absolute middens, even before they get into a state of disrepair (looking at you brutalist architecture). Some of the new buildings look great, some of them don't.

I also don't necessarily believe that every single new building has to have some form of reference to "the past". Did the architects of 1800's Glasgow reference 1700's Glasgow in their work?
