Comment | In my view it's not the driver's fault, they're part of a broken system that fails to support the needs of its users.
If the buses were really run for our benefit (rather than the benefit of shareholders) we would have
* bus stops with clear, well-designed maps of the routes
* integrated ticketing across rail, subway and buses (making connections possible)
* drivers who are incentivised to actually help customers, rather than punished for being late
The public transport in this city is a joke because its chronic dysfunction works to the benefit of the wealthy individuals who own and control it. Who wants integrated ticketing? There's more money to be had if the bus companies don't cooperate. Total racket |
