Yeah, I’ve never got why it’s a thing. I’ve worked in kitchens, waiting, healthcare, retail - the lot. All have been minimum wage, bad hours, weekend work, yet tips were only a thing for waitressing despite literally having shit on my hands on the regs as a health care worker.

Don’t get me wrong, receiving tips was great and I will continue to tip for good service in restaurants, but it boggles the mind that it’s the custom to tip wait staff and yet the cleansing workers who take away our rubbish will only get tipped at Christmas (if at all).
