Comment	I think public transport is doomed to be terrible in the UK regardless of whether it is private or public. The issue is the fact it will always be either a private monopoly with no incentive to run a good service, or in public hands and therefore no incentive to run a good service. It has also, prior to COVID-19, been a necessity which means people can't really vote with their wallets and not use the service if they are unhappy.
