I know! It's improved recently because the default Scottish tenancy agreement allows pets with permission, with landlords only being allowed to say no for justified reasons (mortgage/insurance reason's or stuff to do with negatively impacting a building or something) but the amount that places can take for a deposit is crazy and some landlords will do anything to say to a pet even with the new rules.
