There was once claims that the Pokémon Jynx represented blackface and racist stereotypes, it was then proven that the representation was based on Japanese trends which in turn had no basis in racism or anything else to do with negative stereotypes of black people.
In order to remove these negative comparisons the Pokémon company made the decision to recolour Jynx to purple and remove it from all anime appearances.
If the best justification you have for allowing bigoted nonsense is that someone else might have done it then that's ridiculous. |
