Take the fictional Atticus Finch for example, he stood for the legal rights of a black man in a time when it was socially unacceptable to do so. He believed that discrimination was unjust and by setting an example, he was part of the civil rights movement. The civil rights movements in America led to equality - of a sort. By standing against injustice, Atticus Finch protested against an unfair establishment. Although not entirely equatable, protesting bigoted groups such as the Orange Order will help to bring awareness to their horrendous views and potentially discourage prospective members away from being drawn in. |
