| Comment | It’s been common for a good 20 years so not a recent trend. Availability of cocaine across the world has skyrocketed since the 80s. Largely due to the massive ramping up in production in South America due to the US market. Glasgow (and Scotland - which this report was about, not just Glasgow) has always had issues around substance abuse. Look at alcohol.
Cocaine is widely available all over Western Europe. The fact Scotland’s consumption is a bit above the average is hardly a shock when our consumption of most other mainstream drugs is too. |
