Thanks so much for this! I had a great chat with the course leader at GSofA & it’s very hands on and in a specialist unit (the hub) beside the clyde near the BBC. It seems to be a much more hands on course and the opportunity for commercial work seems strong since the Hub is used for private work too. It seems the UofG is more “esoteric” & can be more art & theory based whereas the GSofA is more hands on. As things stand, it will all be taking place in person at The Hub. The UofG at the campus.

The start date is September so it’s all a bit last minute (moving back to glasgow next month, all quite sudden, long story!), my background is contemporary music, be it writing, performing or recording. My work has always used experimental sound techniques & trying to approach it from oblique angles. My wish has always been to get more into writing for screen, be it film, tv or games. I’ve scored a few short films and written music for theatre.

Any tips you could offer would be massively appreciated! Or even if you fancy a coffee in Glasgow sometime to discuss? Thanks so much for taking the time to respond!
