It's a gamble, but you'll always get notice for inspections. Even if they find out it won't be the case of being kicked out straight away. You could drag out the move for months.

I'm no expert of course so take my advice with some doubt.

Even if it pisses off the landlord they probably wouldn't want to go down the eviction route.

Inspections aren't common either. I rented for about 6-7 years until about 10 years ago and never got one inspection.

If I were in your situation I wouldn't have a problem having a pet on the sly.
