Sounds like bullshit. I know the (likely) school, went to it in the 90s and was taught both in biology and RE.
I’m all for calling out schools and other orgs for shite behaviour but unless they’ve gotten extremely more conservative in the last 20-odd years, which seems unlikely, this is absolutely not true.
