| Comment | I was cited, got a call the day before (or two days before, I can't recall) asking me if I was OK with my name being put on the ballot and I said yes. The man on the phone said that, if they didn't call me back to confirm I was selected, to ring the helpline at 5 pm, which I did - the recorded message said I wasn't selected (because I didn't get a call). The following day the same man called me at 10 asking me where I was and why I wasn't at the jury service, which I replied 'because I never got a call telling me I was selected?' and he angrily replied 'WELL YOU ARE DISMISSED!' And hung up.
I immediately called the phone number in the letter just to make sure they understood it was not my fault I wasn't there, as I was willing and keen to do so, but they failed to notify me. Plus I mentioned this man was very rude for no reason whatsoever.
All this to say, make sure everything is clear from their side, as the process is very convoluted and not clear at all. |
