Well I did live in Portobello, which was nice, for the beach. Although if there was any slightly hot weather it was just heaving with people. maybe that is true of any nice beach.

But living in the city generally, I had the feeling that outwith the festival month, there wasn't much to do. Mainstream and expensive cultural events. whereas after only a very short time in Glasgow I feel there is a very creative cultural community.

Also people here are super friendly, even in so called 'sketchy' neighbourhoods. Edinburgh more conservative socially. Not unfriendly, it is a progressive city, but more restrained.
