| Comment | Then explain to me why my local council and many other companies will happily give out a job to a gay/trans person over a straight person or a black over a white, because of "equal opportunities"? It isn't equal when you're specifically allowing "minority groups" to get jobs over others. That's not equal at all. I know a guy in my work who doesn't speak a word of English and he got the job over a friend of mine who is over qualified for the job! How's that fair? We all get the exact same opportunities in this country. We all get access to public education and can become whatever we want. It's how we apply ourselves that's the issue, not the colour of skin or sexuality. There's plenty blacks and gays making ten times my wage, I ain't out there screaming about it being unfair, I'm just doing me and that's all I can do. I'm sorry if some things seem unfair but that's hee haw to do with me as a person and any of the people I know who aren't in minority groups. I also have several gay friends who don't even support the pride events for the same reasons I've mentioned. Not that that means anything, it's their individual opinion. I'll support anyone but once you bring individual differences into it then I'm done. We're humans and that's all we are. Nobodies perfect, nobodies normal, were all different. |
