| Comment | i feel your pain. i cycle quite a lot because i can't afford to run my car everywhere. i actually love cyling. there's no better feeling than going down some of the good cycle paths or down the canal at your own pace. BUT the cycling infrastructure in glasgow is pretty crap outside a few roads.
some of the infrastructure you are meant to cycle along is poorly maintained at best, confusing/dangerous at worst. usually filling up with parked cars that the council/police/parking will do nothing about. best example is howard street next to the st enoch center. there's a reason no cyclists use that lane..... because you can't. there's always parked cars in it and your expected to cycle into oncoming traffic to overtake them.
p.s. glasgow taxi drivers are the saltiest people on the road. i don't wanna say you get used to it, but i will say you get better at dealing with them. if you see a taxi, give it a wide birth. |
