Try a rescue first. Give local centre a call. Depending on situation might not be compatible.
Do your research. What breed do you want? Not all dogs are suited to city life or prefer small families etc.
Look up SSPCA approved breeders. Look up Kennel club. Facebook pages. Most approved breeders have facebook pages updated regularly as the pups get older.
Try and avoid contacting them online. Best phoning (check phone number on google) to make sure legit.
Please think long and hard about getting a Puppy. It's hard work and a big commitment. The amount of dogs in the SSPCA and dog's trust that are below 2 is astounding. They are not just toys to give back when weather gets shit or working from home is over. |
