Cheaper to drive, if parking is free, and you ignore maintenance, insurance etc (at least that was my experience)
I'm significantly cheaper to travel by public transport than to drive to work. At the moment I use bus, rather than train but in my last job, it was about the same either way. Train was faster for that commute too.
