In terms of all the instances that you described happening in public - I feel it’s the lack of accountability that drives this behaviour. Nobody ever challenges these people and therefore what’s stopping them from continuing to do so? I feel like it’s a Scottish/British thing to want to avoid confrontation at all costs (I’m Polish and trust me - those youths would have been 100% told off by someone older in my motherland) but then it results in people acting like animals and sometimes not even realising how they’re affecting others.
In terms of cinema - it’s like one mind over here. I went to see Elvis on Monday and two people behind me were occasionally talking to each other - not whispering - but full volume talking which pissed me off numerous times. I finally built up enough courage and asked them to stop but it’s never easy to a challenge stranger. But it’s always the right thing to do (in my humble opinion). |
