Thought of that, but I think I'd rather pay someone to do a good job of cleaning it with a pressure washer, and possibly with some follow up of application of anti-algae solution to keep it protected for the future. I had asked a friend (who's quite hands on) for a second opinion too and he recommended probably just getting it professionally done as the wood may need some treatment.
