| Comment | This hasn't happen in Glasgow physically, but I used to be a delivery driver, sometimes working in two man's team out from Glasgow. We were to Bute and my mate was making sure to call every customer in advance to let them know where we are, but he had a strange habit of never introducing himself. We were in Bute in Port Bannatyne and he told me to stop at this little car park outside a toilet so he can call. We got out of the van to check something on the back, but it started to rain, so he hid in the entrance to the toilet building and fiddled with his phone.
He called that (as it turned out later, a posh elderly man) and started shouted at him "Hi there, Mr X? I am calling to let you know I AM IN THE TOILET!" Apparently there was some confusion as he was repeating it several times, louder and louder.
The fact that I wasn't able to see the customer's face at the other side of the phone is one of my biggest regrets. |
