Aye, can you imagine growing up and having a public record of everything you've ever done, every time you threw up as a kid, the lot? It's one thing having baby pics or personal albums, but everything visible to all your parents' mates or to the public? Fuck that.
The only times I've uploaded a pic of me and my sister's kid I've asked their permission first, basic courtesy really.
