| Comment | Well, the Auld Alliance was / is with France, we (am French, been here eight years now) also hate the English, surprisingly we do have a lot of vowel realisations in common (I came here to study linguistics), of course we are welcome. At least I've felt welcome, especially when I reveal I'm French and not Eastern European – met a cab driver once who was quite rude to me as long as he thought I was Russian, and he got very talkative and nice once I revealed that I just have too weird of an accent for it to sound French. |
