Just graduated as a civil engineer from strathclyde and I bagged myself a grad job that's still based in Glasgow with a decent company. My starting salary is around 28k.

I also had 0 intern/summer placement experience, I found applying for grad jobs much easier than summer placements tbh. I didn't even feel like this did me a disservice during interviews, they were very interested in my university projects and dissertation.

Strathclyde have fantastic connections with companies - I had a lecturer email job vacancies every week or two.

I'd recommend getting your masters, it seems there's a push for students to get their masters so they can become chartered in the future. The company I'm going to work for want to get me chartered within 5 years - and they will fully support me through the process.

I also suffered from a bit of imposter syndrome during uni as all my friends were getting summer placements and more grad job interviews and I felt I wasn't smart enough etc. But it all worked out in the end, just have to believe in yourself a little :)
