The wh1000xm3 is the perfect solution to get work done while he's playing. I can't hear him at all even when he's shredding loudly.
My mate has the m4's, they are basically identical to the m3's but you can connect multiple devices at once, but he actually finds the m4's annoying. When he walks into a room with a second device the m4's interrupted his podcast to connect to another device. So I recommend the m3's if you want something that works and is a bit cheaper.
