If you are under 30, as a Canadian you can apply for a [Youth Mobility Visa](https://www.gov.uk/youth-mobility) to say in the UK for 2 years. After that, you can apply for a partnership visa - but it is *extremely* important that you document you have been living with your partner for those 2 years. Because if you don't, good luck proving it for the partnership visa.

Also, you can't really apply for most visas while inside the UK. If you visit on a tourist visa with intentions to stay you can get in some trouble.

Not sure how difficult it is to apply for the YMV, but I recommend hiring an immigration lawyer if you it it. Some visas requite a lot of paperwork that you could easily fuck up. DM me if you need a recommendation.
