Seconding this. Even if you're not ready to open up fully or commit to going through the NHS yet, they can act as a good signpost to outside support like charities and groups etc that in my personal experience have found a lot more useful than NHS help! A lot of charities need a GP referral, and you can give them as much information as you're comfortable with right now.
