I don’t understand the economics of why it’d make a difference, but back in the day, Glasgow was owned by BAA, who own most major airports in the UK. But BAA were forced to sell because the owned Edi and Aberdeen as well… So maybe in continuing to own Edinburgh they are just in a stronger negotiating position with the airlines? Who knows?
