| Comment | This is an absolute myth, places like NA have one requirement for attending and that's a desire to get clean. 99% of the people who attend are totally abstinent. The demographic of people who attend NA is NOT the one you are representing and again is a myth. In fact the NA literature specifically only mentions one drug in its whole ethos and that's alcohol due to the confusion and very real risk of substitution. I urge you to challenge your own ideas by going to [NA Member Surveys](https://m.na.org/?q=Survey&ID=se) and see for yourself this demographic.
Making friends with other addicts, especially those in recovery is the best thing to do.
I challenge you to actually go along to an NA meeting yourself before listening to anyone you may have "treated" and get some first hand experience of what you see and not what you hear second hand.
