| Comment | Just to chip in here with some numbers for waiting times on the off-chance it's helpful: A psychiatrist from the CMHT referred me for CBT and may waiting time was 3 months. Statistics of one here, I know, but around 80% of referrals for [psychological therapies are started within 4 and a half months](https://www.publichealthscotland.scot/publications/psychological-therapies-waiting-times/psychological-therapies-waiting-times-quarter-ending-march-2021/).
CBT can be got on the NHS through self referral as well through your local primary care mental health team; you don't need to be referred by a clinician. |
